Overview of the Application Process
- Within 8 Days of Arrival: Pick up the “kit” at a designated Ufficio Postale (post office) – look for the “Sportello Amico” kiosk.
- Complete the Kit: Fill out the forms and attach required documents (see table below).
- Submit at the Post Office: Hand in the kit, pay fees, and receive a stamped receipt with your appointment date at the local Questura.
- Biometric Appointment: Attend your appointment at the Questura (police headquarters) to provide fingerprints and photograph.
- Permit Delivery: When ready (usually 30–60 days later), collect your Permesso at the Questura or authorized post office location.
